The biggest boxing event of 2017 saw millions around watch undefeated welterweight Floyd Mayweather finish his career with a flawless 50-0 record against mixed-martial arts fighter and first-time professional boxer Conor McGregor.

As UFC 223 got underway in Brooklyn on Saturday night, retired championship boxer Floyd Mayweather made an appearance on Showtime Championship Boxing in Las Vegas. "But as you know, and everybody know, I go into retirement, I come back".

"Retirement has been great but as you know, and everybody knows, I go on retirement and I go back", he said. "Me, I can do what I want, when I want, how I want to".

"I spoke with my team, with Showtime; if we can get together with Dana White, we can make a mega-fight", he said.

"Outside the ring you have to carry yourself as a gentleman", said Mayweather.

"When we fought, we both sold the fight and the world loved what we did but outside of the ring you have to be a gentleman". "We could do a multi-fight deal".

In the interview, Mayweather said he would likely compete at featherweight in MMA.

UFC president Dana White is already on board with the idea of bringing Mayweather into the Octagon.

McGregor was banned from UFC 223 at the Barclays Center this weekend after being arrested and led from the 78th precinct in handcuffs for his role in a retaliatory attack on a bus that was carrying other UFC fighters.

If the money is right. "If I do come back, Showtime and CBS have to be involved".

He was released from custody on bail of $50,000 with a court hearing set for June 14.

Like any fighter, Mayweather is capable of learning the nuances of MMA and an Octagon.

One thing Mayweather said was certain was that he is done boxing.

Indeed, Money has even speculated that a UFC fight with McGregor could be on the cards in the near future. The "Money Fight" between Mayweather and McGregor was an exception, but that was boxing.
