Despite the odds and the possibility of elimination, Team USA pulled off a brilliant comeback against the curling favourites at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics causing quite the upset for Sweden. He stopped being that guy a week ago, when his US men's curling team fell to 2-4 in round-robin play, on the verge of elimination, and Shuster escorted his family to the far exit of the Gangneung Curling Center to put them on a bus, and his wife Sarah gave him the biggest pep talk he could, and he appreciated it but barely acknowledged it.

Shuster's team did it again in the semifinals.

The Swedes knew they were done, spending the last two ends simply playing for pride and working off their frustration.

The Americans have struggled with Team Curling in the past but this time around the team of Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner, Joe Polo who were led by team captain John Shuster went the distance and beat Team Sweden team 10-7. Curling Captain, John Shuster, worked to get where they are.

Delta celebrated their gold-medal achievement at the airport in Seoul and popped champagne and gave the curlers a toast on board their flight home, he said.

The team of "rejects" was led by John Shuster who had been cut by USA Curling after a disappointing performance in Sochi in 2014.

As we know, this isn't The Simpsons first tango with the future. Sure, the team earned the bronze medal in 2006, but the USA men finished dead last out of 10 teams in Vancouver back in 2010 and ninth out of 10 teams in Sochi back in 2014. A total of 244 athletes made up America's delegation ― the largest US delegation in Winter Olympics history.

- After almost an entire day's worth of travel, the men's curling team that captured Olympic gold in a historic come-from-behind victory is back on Minnesota soil.

Asked about how he had transformed his "team of rejects" Shuster replied to grins all round: "You haven't said that right, we weren't a team of rejects, just Team Reject!"

Rubinovich says usually the Olympic Open House draws a good crowd of between 200 and 300 people, but this year's attendance shattered all previous records with a total of 390.

This was Shusters fourth consecutive Olympic appearance, and he has experienced all the joy and heartbreak that the Games can offer.

One Twitter user joked about the Olympic tradition of biting into gold medals, to ensure their quality.

Switzerland, which beat Canada in the third-place game on Friday, joined the finalists on the podium to receive its bronze medals.

We were starstruck when National Football League player J.J. Watt and Hamilton became best friends.

He wrote: "Come on @Delta I think #DeltaOne is calling our name for the gold!" But he noted that they actually were not the first American team to win the gold. "I can't tell you how much that fueled us".

"We've played our best when our backs were up against the wall", Tyler George said.

Team USA was also represented this year by some bright young stars in the action sports world, including 17-year-old snowboarders Red Gerard and Chloe Kim, who both won gold in their respective events. Whew! Plus I really enjoyed watching the Korean women's team.
