A faction of Boko Haram kidnapped 110 girls and one boy from the girls' school in Dapchi, a town in north-east Nigeria, in February, and released majority a month later, after what the government described as "back-channel" negotiations.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that At least, 30 parents of yet-to-return or found Chibok girls are at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, to visit a former president.

Leah's mother echoed her husband, saying the entire Dapchi community - Muslims and Christians alike - is praying her daughter Leah will soon be reunited with their family. "It did not take this long before they returned with the other girls", Muniru Dapchi, a resident told TheCable on Sunday. However she urged the Buhari administration to improve and tighten security at all schools in northeast Nigeria which have suffered extremist violence during Boko Haram's almost 10-year insurgency.

Leah's mother is still in shock, too traumatized to speak, and was rushed to the hospital.

But Sharibu said Leah had not been handed over to him and what he had heard was upsetting him.

When NPR met Sharibu in Dapchi earlier this month, she proudly described her daughter as a good student who liked to learn and liked school.

On 19 February, the militants attacked Dapchi town and stole 110 of the girls. We congratulate and rejoice with the victims, their parents and relations, government and people of Yobe State as well as the Federal Government and all Nigerians on this happy occasion. "The terrorists just really ruined things by keeping Leah back".

"We were told she was on her way but she has not yet been brought", said Kachalla, who is the spokesman of the abducted schoolgirls' parents union.

Boko Haram is divided into two competing factions, and analysts believe the one that abducted the Dapchi girls is the less violent one, led by Abu Musab al-Barnawi.

President Muhammadu Buhari had said his government would not abandon Sharibu. It shows weakness on the part of the government or sympathy for them as being speculated.

The government had confirmed that six of the girls are still unaccounted for and that it is in talks with Boko haram to secure their release.
