While the injury was expected to keep Porter out for the entire season, the potential National Basketball Association lottery pick was cleared to play in mid-February and is expected to return Thursday in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, according to coach Cuonzo Martin.

The 6-10 Porter played only two minutes in the season opener before going out with a back injury. Martin told reporters throughout the season it was Porter's call when he felt ready to return to the court. I don't have it in my head to say, 'He's play this many minutes and that's it.'.

NBA Draft analysts still project Porter to be a lottery selection.

It looks like Michael Porter Jr. might suit up again for Missouri after all.

Martin said that Porter will not start the game on Thursday, and his playing time will be determined based on the flow of the game and how Porter feels. It was about how he felt...for me it was always Mike's decision to play or not play. At the end of Feburary, Porter Jr., was cleared for basketball activities.

Missouri will play the victor of Wednesday night's Georgia-Vanderbilt game. The Tigers went 20-11 in the regular season and have earned a first round bye in the SEC Tournament as the fifth seed.
