Seth Rollins and John Cena battle it out at WWE SummerSlam at Barclays Center of Brooklyn on August 23, 2015 in New York City.

A gauntlet match starts out with two competitors and every time a victor is announced, another superstar is added until all contenders have entered the ring one after the other, with the final two remaining stars having the last match.

The longest single-match performance by a WWE Superstar on the flagship since John Cena and Shawn Michaels tore the house down in London in April of 2007, Rollins repaid WWE officials' faith in him with one of the best showings of his career.

Reigns, who later had his Spear stopped by Rollins, was defeated by The Architect following a series of roll-up pin attempts by both men.

In round three, Elias rushed to the ring to try and quickly defeat a battered and exhausted Rollins who still wouldn't quit.

What will Braun Strowman break next?

Gauntlet Match: Match #3: Elias def. Seth Rollins by pin following Drift Away to advance.

Finn Balor then took on Elias and defeated the guitar player by attacking his injured ribs with a Coup de Grace for the victory. Strowman won the fall and the match with a running powerslam.

The gauntlet match definitely ate up most of Monday Night Raw this week and it seems that Seth Rollins is now being pushed into a fantastic position on the show after a few months of being left in the mid-card.

Matches confirmed for tonight are six-woman action with Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville and RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James, Sasha Banks and Bayley. But as Strowman put the brakes on The Miz, leaving the Miztourage in tatters too, and added multiple powerslams just to appease the crowd.
