An announcement from Blizzard's official site has revealed that the latest expansion in the company's flagship MMO, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, is to be released this summer. You'll have to declare your allegiance to one of the two factions, you'd better start brushing up on your Warcraft lore in order to make an informed decision. Horde players can unlock the Highmountain Tauren and Nightborne Elves, while the Alliance gains access to Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves.

However, just because the Allied Races are now available doesn't mean they're accessible to everyone. Blizzard has been offering these instant boosts since Warlords of Draenor, the game's fifth expansion, was available for pre-purchase back in 2014. There will also be new game modes which involve exploring uncharted isles of Azeroth to collect resources against enemy players, and a 20-player, RTS-Warcraft-inspired cooperative mode that will have players battle for strategic locations against enemy forces. Players who want to unlock these Allied Races must be Exalted with that race's associated Legion faction. If you do decide to level up one of the new races from 20 to 110 will unlock a set of cosmetic gear known as Heritage Armor.

Pre-purchasing the expansion - buying it outright ahead of time - comes with benefits.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth will continue the story of the ongoing fight between the Horde and the Alliance. There's also two versions of the expansion competing for your cash: The Digital Deluxe Edition and the Standard Edition, which retail for £52.99 and £39.99, respectively.

WoW: Alliance players will get the Seabraid Stallion mount, while Horde players can ride the Gilded Ravasaur.

The Azeroth is Burning card back will add firey style to your favorite Hearthstone decks.

Overwatch: Torbjorn gets Horde and Alliance voice lines, Tracer will have some new emotes, and everyone will have access to WoW-themed sprays and player icons. Finally, in Heroes of the Storm you get a new Primal Flamesaber mount in three colors.
