The H3N2 flu strain is infecting the most patients.

There has been a steady spike of flu related deaths in the state.

"H3N2 is still around but it's on the decline while influenza b is on the increase", said Tim Timmins of the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.

As of February 3, a total of 48 states continued to experience widespread flu activity, according to the CDC's latest surveillance report.
