Auto Expo 2018: Mahindra unveils electric KUV100 with new EV concepts

Tata Motors has bagged an order to supply electric vehicles to EESL, and the first set of 350 EVs have been delivered.

Noida-headquartered Lohia Auto has launched a new product from its electric vehicle range - an electric three wheeler called Comfort E-Auto - at the Auto Expo 2018.

The new Tata Tamo Racemo Electric Vehicle looks a lot like the regular sportscar that it's based on.

"We are making a serious commitment towards innovation and investment in the launch of a full range of products that will connect with the aspirations of our customers", he said.

Part of Kia's extensive line-up at the 2018 Auto Expo is the Mohave. However, Electric Vehicles (EVs) stole the limelight at Auto Expo 2018. The homegrown auto major also registered a whopping 55% growth in its passenger vehicle sales in January 2018, and 38% growth in commercial vehicles in the same period.

Electric two-wheeler maker Twenty Two Motors launched a smart electric scooter "Flow", priced at Rs 74,740, and has plans to roll out over 2 lakh units in three years.

The automobile industry showcased its vision for electric-powered transport solution at the pre-open day of the Auto Expo 2018.

The country's largest automaker Maruti Suzuki, which had earlier announced its plans to launch an electric vehicle in India in 2020, will showcase a concept electric compact SUV, e-Survivor.

A four wheel drive variant will also be offered.

Post an official launch for the public, the Tiago EV would compete with the Mahindra e2O Plus and the Tigor EV would lock horns with the Mahindra e-Verito.

Tata Motors had unveiled their most ambitious concept, the Racemo at the last year's Geneva Motow Show.

BMW Motorrad India launched the all-new BMW F750 GS and the all-new BMW F850 GS and will be available as Completely Built-Up Units (CBU) from May 2018 onwards.

The Atom It is powered by Mahindra's new electric Powertrain which features batteries that can be swapped to extend the vehicle's range, allowing it to operate uninterrupted for long hours. Also on board are specially developed tyres - 185/60 profile - for better handling and steering feel.

Ashok Leyland launched its first electric bus, Circuit S, which offers seating facility for around 25 to 35 people.

India's automobile market is now the world's 5th largest, with almost 3.8 million vehicles sold per year.

In the two wheeler segment, TVS Motor Company today unveiled its concept electric scooter "Creon" along with a 220cc single cylinder engine concept motorbike "Zeppelin".
