The 13 phone models with ARCore 1.0 support are: Asus' Zenfone AR, Google's Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, LG's V30 and V30+ (with Android Oreo only), OnePlus's OnePlus 5, and Samsung's Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8+, and Note8. Even if Google isn't doing that, the company is known for providing foundational services that work across all devices (Search, Gmail, YouTube, Maps) and putting Lens in AR headsets from other companies makes a lot of sense as Google's long-term ambition.

Variety was first to report about the impending launch of ARCore at Mobile World Congress Thursday. Later, Google made the feature available to all devices running Android 8.1 Oreo.

The full launch of Google's ARCore for Android took place on February 23rd, 2018.

Google now says that its confirmation about an upcoming dark mode was a "miscommunication with the team that handles AOSP issues".

An low-priced weekend phone running Android Go and only costing $50 might be tempting for some people who want to get away from their all-singing-all-dancing flagship smartphone. Google reckons apps will run 15 percent faster on entry-level devices. Files Go, the storage manager for devices that need more memory and space, adds a small but useful feature to the app, making it easier to back up your files on Google Drive, which is logical given they're all part of the whole Google ecosystem.

A key reason for the decline is that people are opting to buy good-quality feature phones, rather than super-cheap smartphones.

Dark mode is one of the most popular features Android doesn't have.

Google's Android One partners are set to reveal new smartphones at MWC too.

According to Google's Issue Tracker, a user asked the company previous year for a dark mode in Android 9.0 to accommodate all of the OLED screens on the market since it can help save battery life. The goal of Android One was to reduce the uncertainty about what to expect from lower-end Android phones.

The Assistant is also getting some upgrades thanks to the addition of routines, which enables users to create a list of stuff for it to do with a single command.
