Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence will lead the US delegation to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, next month, a senior White House official said on Wednesday.

Serving as an Olympic honorary ambassador, the K-pop star's first release of 2018 is a propulsive cheer track that blends pop-rock and tropical house elements to incite fervor for Pyeongchang 2018.

This effort will mark the first time ever that VR will be available for a Winter Olympics and that Olympic VR programming will be live in the U.S on a wide range of devices and platforms.

The Pyeongchang Olympic Games are less than a month away, and American athletes are getting ready to go for the gold.

Intel TrueVR "pods" at each event will create a 360 degree virtual environment where viewers can watch.

The VR video content, powered by Intel TrueVR, will be available to users of Windows, Samsung and Google VR headsets, and for Android and iOS devices through the NBC Sports VR app. The VR content will include the opening and closing ceremonies, behind-the-scene interviews, and all-time favorite events like ski jumping, snowboarding, figure skating, ice hockey, and curling.

"The Olympics have always been an opportunity to showcase emerging media technology", said Gary Zenkel, president, NBC Olympics in a statement. No word yet on whether NBC's Olympics coverage in VR will feature VR advertising as well.

Moreover, prime-time viewership for the 18-49 year-old age group at the 2016 Olympic Games was 25% lower compared with the Olympics four years earlier, according to Bloomberg.

VR streaming in sports isn't a novel idea, but this would be the first time for the Olympics to be streamed in VR to nearly all VR headsets. Most programming was presented on next-day delay.
