Mandeville Kmart will close in early April, company announces

The company has released a new list of 103 Sears and Kmart stores it will be closing by this spring, 10 Kmart stores closing are in Pennsylvania and three Sears.

Sears Holdings Corp. will be closing over 100 more stores as the struggling department store chain tries to turn around its business.

Kmart will continue to operate in Ceres, Oakdale and Stockton, among other locations around the nation.

Liquidation sales at closing Macy's stores will begin as soon as January 8, while Sears will start liquidating stores as soon as January 12.

The Sears at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing and Kmart's last Berks store in Cumru Township have again been kept off the chopping block as the Illinois-based company takes steps to stay in business.

Two years ago, Kmart had 940 stores; it will be left with about 400 locations after the closure. According to a press release, "eligible associates impacted by these store closures will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores".
