Elon Musk's Boring Company Is Selling Flamethrowers Now

Musk's The Boring Company, which wants to create a network of underground tunnels to ease traffic congestion, is offering flamethrowers for sale on its website for a cool $500, advertised as "guaranteed to liven up any party".

Musk was clearly joking about selling hats to finance the Boring Company since they are working on multi-million dollar projects and even though selling 50,000 hats is impressive, it still only amounts to $1 million. The Boring Company's mission is to excavate a low-priced but fast-digging tunnel through Los Angeles to help alleviate its notorious vehicle traffic.

Some took those tweets as a joke while others surmised that The Boring Company is planning to sell pocket-sized flamethrowers, aka lighters. Poking fun at the fact that movie merchandise is usually targeted towards the younger demographic, Yogurt proudly claimed that kids "love" the Spaceballs flamethrower. Elon Musk founded The Boring Company not too long ago. You can watch it by clicking here. However, as we recently pointed out, Teslarati reported that D.A. Wallach visited the company's tunnel and posted an Instagram video with the fully functional flamethrower in hand.

Well, now we have proof. The flamethrower, if this web page is to be believed, will go for $600.

Sadly, the password was changed, so access to the page was denied for a time.

"Prototype pictured above", the product description reads, before hilariously noting that the "final production flamethrower will be better". Thus, in a lot of ways, Elon Musk's flamethrower is really more similar to weed-killing torches like the Weed Dragon, which could be bought at hardware stores, than an actual flamethrower, such as the XM42-M, which can shoot flames up to 30 feet. Let us know in the comment section below.

For an extra $US30, those proud new flamethrower owners can "Buy an overpriced Boring Company fire extinguisher!"
