Gabriel Jesus suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament in Sunday's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, Manchester City have confirmed.

City were looking to catch Crystal Palace on the break late on in Sunday's 0-0 draw, with Ederson saving a Luka Milivojevic penalty just a few moments earlier.

The Belgium worldwide was initially carried off the pitch on a stretcher with his leg in a brace, but he was soon seen ambling down the touchline with the support of City's medical staff. Both players have many offers from clubs inside and outside England.

"We were lucky in the recent games, and today we will see", Guardiola told reporters.

"I admire the physicality in the Premier League but the referees have to protect the players", said the Catalan. That's all I ask.

On top of the injuries, David Silva has played just one of City's last five games due to personal reasons. They focus on diving, on these kind of things.

City failed in their pursuit of the Chile star during the previous transfer window but there is strong speculation they will attempt to strike a deal next month, with Sanchez's contract expiring at the end of the season.

"I know the contact is allowed here more than any other country, but there is a limit".

"We were lucky against Tottenham with Raz [Raheem Sterling] and Kevin, Newcastle with [Ilkay] Gundogan. I don't see why I should come back to a subject we have talked about 155 times". Jesus faces up to two months out with suspected knee ligament damage, while De Bruyne's injury, not believed to be as serious as his teammate's, will nearly certainly force the Belgian to miss the Watford game.
