He has considerable experience as he also worked in the roles of director of player personnel, director of pro personnel, assistant director of player personnel, and assistant director of pro personnel. Highsmith is credited with pushing for the Packers to draft Donald Driver and sign undrafted Sam Shields, both serving significant roles when they played in Green Bay. He reportedly had an offer to join coach Jon Gruden in Oakland.

Wolf has worked for the Packers personnel department since 2004.

The Cleveland Browns will name Eliot Wolf as the team's assistant general manager, multiple outlets reported on Wednesday.

With two first-round picks and a pair of second-rounders, Dorsey and Wolf have the chance to make an immediate impact on a winless, uber-young roster previously overseen by the fired Sashi Brown.

The Browns hiring Alonzo Highsmith is new GM John Dorsey's first major step toward reshaping the team's front office. Green Bay reached the postseason every year from 2009-16 - one season shy of the National Football League record - before having that string snapped after this year's 7-9 campaign. Since 2012, he had held the title of senior personnel executive after spending 13 years in the team's college scouting department.

"This is going to be an exciting challenge", Highsmith said. Some of my fondest memories in football were playing the Browns in the playoffs one year (while with the Oilers) and the fans throwing dog bones at us so we had to turn around and play that series at the opposite end zone.

Dorsey is not confining his raiding to the Packers.

The new-look Cleveland Browns' front office is beginning to take shape. Berry keeps his title, the same as Highsmith's, and Kovash will be given a vice president's title in the team's strategy department.
