Concerned security guards rushed to the singer but rather than reprimand the fan she reacted calmly and reassured them that everything was okay.

This summer, the 49-year-old Canadian will head to seven cities across the Asia-Pacific region.

Dion's concerts in Singapore are part of her month-long Celine Dion Live 2018 Tour, in which she will stop at a number of Asian cities.

Dion calmly told the woman: "I'm glad you came up onstage tonight, I'm glad you just wanted to come closer to me", before being vigorously embraced by the fan.

A member of her security team finally approaches to pull the woman away but Dion assures him that it's fine. "I'll be back in Tokyo and Macao after 10 years, and I will also have the pleasure to visit for the first time ever Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Manila and Bangkok!", she posted on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram early Friday morning, Manila time.

The statement added that Dion should be able to return to the stage for her next scheduled concert on Friday.

Celine is now performing her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. This will be Dion's second time performing in Singapore - the singer was last here in 2008. "But now, we're gonna have a fun time", she said.

Throughout her 30-year musical career, Dion has won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for Falling Into You (1996), and Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for My Heart Will Go On (1998). "Be well", she said in a social media video.
