Woman killed by pit bulls outside her home

42, was arrested and charged with harboring a vicious animal after two of his pitbulls attacked and killed Lorraine Brock Saylor, 66, in Kentucky on December 24, 2017.

The dog attack occurred Sunday morning off Highway 66 in the Wiser Branch area of Arjay, where Lorraine and her husband Johnny Saylor were attacked outside of their home, according to the sheriff.

The husband suffered injuries to his head and arm while fending off the two animals while Lorraine Saylor died shortly after the attack.

The owner of two pitbulls which mauled a woman to death in her front yard on Christmas Eve has been arrested for harboring a vicious animal.

Steele said Johnny Saylor is expected to survive. Johnny's brother lives next door and came to their aid, throwing a door stop at the dogs, allowing his brother to escape.

One dog was fatally shot as it lunged at him. He was also attacked by the dogs, but his brother was able to distract them long enough for Johnny to run inside and get his gun.

At the time of the attack, Lorraine Saylor was putting out bird seed when her husband heard cries from the front porch reported wkrn.

"They were both active within the community and just, like I said, two of the nicest people you would ever meet. It's overwhelming the circumstances and what he found", Steele said. He also says the dogs belonged to the Saylors' neighbors.

Sheriff Mitch Williams says anyone seeing the second dog, a brown pit bull, are asked to call law enforcement.

Bell County Sheriff's Office announced Lankford's arrest late on Saturday night in a statement.
