West Ham appoints Moyes Manager

West Ham United parted company with Slaven Bilic on Monday following a disappointing start to the 2017-18 Premier League season.

"I think we've got a good squad", he said.

Moyes - relegated with Sunderland last season - has been tasked with keeping West Ham in the Premier League.

West Ham potential Moyes began to come to prominence when he was in charge of Everton, leading him to get the top job at Manchester United after being identified by Sir Alex Ferguson as the ideal replacement, which ended badly before he moved to failed roles at Real Sociedad and Sunderland.

Yet the former West Ham manager wants to prioritise spending time with family and those close to him say he is set to keep a low profile for "a few months".

According to the BBC, the Scot's two-and-a-half year deal with the club contains a break clause which will allow them to part ways if needed at the end of the season.

It is a well-established club, a well-run football club, so I am looking forward to getting my teeth into it and obviously the job is to make sure we get wins and get ourselves up the league. "I've got no doubts about that, but ultimately we have to show it on the pitch".

"He is highly regarded and respected within the game, and will bring fresh ideas, organisation and enthusiasm".

But with just nine points from their first 11 games of the league season, results are the most important thing.

Sullivan believes Moyes, 54, is the ideal choice to steer the club to safety. "I hope it gives me great strength and understanding of what is required".

It is unlikely he will take up the offer for Moyes' first home fixture against Leicester on November 24.

West Ham now find themselves 18th in the Premier League table after 11 games of the season.
