However, his tweet mentioned that only the unlocked variant of the U11 will be updated to Oreo. The Oreo OS update will be available for download on the HTC U11 unlocked version starting on Monday! This update is however only available for all unlocked devices now.

The information regarding the software update came from the company's VP of Product Management Mo Versi via a Twitter post, last week.

"The HTC U11 is a 5.5" smartphone with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The company also started rolling out the new operating system in Taiwan, and it seems the time has arrived for other regions to receive the update. He didn't give specific details as to when U11 users with carrier-locked phones would be able to download Oreo, but he added that HTC is working with Sprint to "get it out as quickly as possible". Thos in the United States can also look out for the update starting today. Android Oreo is also set to bring access to a wide range of features including Notification Channels, Notification Dots, Autofill for passwords and Android Instant Apps.

If you are wondering, when will Android Oreo be rolled out to the HTC U11 in other regions, we think it should be by the end of this year.

The U11 updates mark the first step for HTC making good on the promise it made back in August to bring Oreo to the HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10. LG announced previously that the LG V30 will get the Android Oreo update in South Korea in December.

If you had a chance to try out the V30 Oreo beta, do let us know about the experience in comments.
