President Trump interrupted a statement on Wednesday afternoon to take an awkward sip from a water bottle.

President Trump takes a break during his remarks: "They don't have water".

Trump mocked Rubio during a campaign event a year ago for his water drinking on live television, calling him a "total choke artist". Initially, he could not see water on his podium, but then the reporters present there pointed a bottle that was kept on a table next to him.

After Trump's similar sip on Wednesday, Rubio shared a clip of the moment on Twitter and reviewed the president's technique.

Trump was also criticised for drinking Fiji Water, which is bottled in the Pacific island nation, while decrying the trade deficit.

Trump and several others had mocked Rubio for drinking water from a bottle as he delivered a speech rebutting Barack Obama's State of the Union address in 2013. He reached for the bottle of water and sipped.

Between spewing out hateful messages on Twitter, derogatory comments about women, immigrants and Democratic voters, it's no surprise Donald Trump is in need of some water once in a while to wet his whistle. Trump held up and opened a bottle of water, saying, "It's Rubio".

Seeing Trump in the awkward position, Rubio did not miss a chance to take a jibe on the US President. The senator joked after the president's speech that Trump needs to work on his form.

"Has to be done in one single motion & eyes should never leave the camera. But not bad for his 1st time", Rubio wrote.
