"Shada" is available to buy as a digital download and is set for release on DVD and Blu-ray on December 4, the New Musical Express reported.

Doctor Who "Shada" is available on digital download in the United Kingdom from today and arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray on December 4th.

Filming of the final installment of season 17 of the series was abandoned 38 years ago but has been finished using animation and Mr Baker's voice. My real life was really rather drab compared with the life of Doctor Who when we were making it. "Doctor Who for me was an asylum and when I was in (it), in full flight, making silly suggestions or pulling amusing faces to make actors laugh, then I was happy".

Actor Tom Baker has returned as Doctor Who - re-shooting part of a story which was halted in the 1970s due to an electricians' strike. But that was shelved to make way for Christmas programming. 23, 1980-production of "Shada" was formally dropped that summer.

The BBC finally completed the story-with new effects, a score, and linking narration by Baker-and six shortened episodes were given a 111-minute VHS release in 1992. It all worked out for the writer, who went on to use some of the characters for Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

He's talking about his five years doing Big Finish audios, as well as his cameo in the fiftieth anniversary, and most recently, the episode of his era. BBC Books later published a novelization of the serial, penned by Gareth Roberts. "I loved doing Doctor Who, it was life to me". "So I took to it like a duck to water and I still do".

"That's why I can't stay away from it, it was a lovely time of my life". "My real life was really rather drab".

Mr Baker, voted the nation's favourite Time Lord, was the fourth doctor and played the role between 1974 and 1981. Tell us what you think!
