Knauf said the couple, who were grateful for the warm wishes from the public, would be putting their personal stamp on their wedding day.

Meghan, who intends to become a British citizen, will become a senior full-time working royal.

Jason Knauf, Prince Harry's communication's secretary, said Windsor is a "very special place" for Harry and that the couple had spent time there during their 16-month romance. The royal family will pay for the wedding, including the church service, the music, the flowers and the reception, the palace added.

"As with all members of the Royal family, Windsor is a very special place for Prince Harry and he and Ms Markle have regularly spent time there over the a year ago and a half, " Prince Harry's communications secretary Jason Knauf said. "As I said before, we are delighted".

The Daily Telegraph said in an editorial: "A divorced, mixed-race Hollywood actress who attended a Roman Catholic school is to marry the son of the next king".

"Bogart is now living with friends", Mr Knauf revealed. The exact date was not revealed. "They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are now working through ideas for how this might be achieved".

They will visit Nottingham, where Prince Harry started the Full Effect programme in 2014 through The Royal Foundation. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles had a televised religious blessing there after they had a civil wedding ceremony nearby in 2005. He said when she visited Buckingham Palace to meet the queen, "the corgis took to her straight away".

According to Kensington Palace, Markle will be baptized and confirmed into the Church of England, of which Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth is the head.
