Miss Universe Falls to Second-Lowest Numbers Ever in the Ratings

Last night she competed against 91 contestants from around the globe, the biggest number of entrants in the history of the competition.

Miss Jamaica, Davina Bennett may have been the second runner-up at this year's Miss Universe pageant, but she might as well have taken home the first place win if Twitter has anything to say about it.

The 22-year-old Nel-Peters has earned a yearlong salary, a luxury apartment in New York City for the duration of her reign and more prizes.

In the "Final Word" portion of the competition, Miss Nel-Peters said: "Miss Universe is a woman who has overcome many fears, and by that she is able to help many women overcome their fears".

Several media men also reacted to the Top 10 finish of the Bicolana beauty queen and why she did advance further.

Whereas there are those who are very happy that Nel-Peters won, others have been left dissatisfied with the choice of 2017 Miss Universe.

In the pageant's 66th year, almost 100 women from around the world-including first-timers from Cambodia, Laos and Nepal- took part.

The runner-up was Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez, while the second runner-up was Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett.

Nel-Peters is from the South African coastal community of Sedgefield in the Western Cape province. Several judges score the women in these competitions, at their discretion, and choose the victor of Miss Universe. "I think we should have equal work for equal pay for women all over the world".

Harvey, a five-time Emmy Award victor, mentioned the moment from when he announced the wrong victor at 2015 Miss Universe.

The Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere from France was on hand to crown her.

More than 90 women from around the world are set to take the stage in the Miss Universe pageant.

She said that women together are "unbreakable".
