Manushi Chhillar wins Miss World beauty pageant crown for India

Manushi was ecstatic and emotional when she was announced the victor from among contestants from 108 countries.

The 21-year-old Manushi hails from Haryana.

She is the fifth Indian ever to win this most prestigious title of Miss World 2017, which ceremony was held on 18 November 2017 at Sanya City Arena, China.

She had previously won Femina Miss India World 2017 in Mumbai on 25 June 2017. I'm also looklng forward to the year ahead.

From being a simple Delhi girl to representing India at Miss World 2017, Manushi's journey has been an inspiring one. England's Stephanie Hill was adjudged first runner up and Mexico's Andrea Meza was the second runner up. Chhillar is only the sixth Indian to have won the title. I don't think its just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. Miss World 2016 victor Puerto Rico's Stephanie Del Valle passed on the coveted crown to the new queen. Mother should get highest respect, " was her reply that impressed the judges. My mother is the biggest inspiration to me. The medical student couldn't believe herself when her name was announced and reacted with extreme joy.

"My final answer also came to me by having them here with me in front of me", said Manushi, whose family members, including a brother and a sister, were present at the gala. "If an organisation like Miss World backs this, it could reach a different level altogether", she had said.
