You can now share your Instagram Stories directly on Facebook

Facebook Stories was not that well received by users.

We had earlier written that it made more sense if Facebook could just sync Facebook and Instagram stories - as both the social networks can easily be linked together for a single user.

The feature only works in one direction at present, though Facebook apparently "hasn't ruled out" letting you start with a Facebook Story and cross-posting it to Instagram.

If you've been on Instagram recently, then you probably know that it has welcomed a new feature.

Instagram the photo-sharing app, was bought by the social media giant Facebook in 2013 for $1 billion, and since then the two apps have had constant links to each other. "We are always working to make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you", a Facebook spokesperson told the publication.

While the option to post Facebook Stories to Instagram Stories has not come yet, the company said it might bring it in near future.

The feature had been in testing with several merchants for the last few months, but it is now being expanded in the run-up to the festive gift-giving season.

However, the tie-in could help Facebook enormously.

Eight months after launching Stories - a ripoff of Snapchat's feature of the same name - Instagram in April announced that more than 200 million people use it every day and low key bragged that its version is more popular that Snapchat.

Despite it having pride of place at the top of the News Feed, most Facebook users are ignoring it, possibly because the Facebook Camera is still relatively new and unfamiliar.
