Stephen Paddock, the man behind the deadliest mass shooting in USA history may have had help in planning his murderous spree according to Las Vegas police Sheriff Joseph Lombardo. That night, Paddock used his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino to fire onto an unsuspecting crowd at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.

Authorities are still searching for a motive for the attack.

Undated photo released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police shows Marilou Danley. Speaking next to first lady Melania Trump, he praised emergency workers and medical staff who responded to Sunday's massacre.

"We don't have any immediately accessible thumb prints that would indicate the shooter's ideology or motivation", said FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. "It makes you proud to be an American".

"What we know is that Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood".

Meanwhile, the number of wounded in the Sunday night massacre has been lowered from more than 500 to 489.

She also expressed sympathy for Paddock's victims. However, Lombardo and investigators did not identify any "person of interest" other than Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley.

Many gamblers falsely believe such machines are more likely to pay off. Weinreich called Danley a "super sweet lady" and says he later learned she had taken off with Paddock.

She arrived late Tuesday at the Los Angeles International Airport from the Philippines.

"She said he would lie in bed, just moaning and screaming, "Oh, my God", one of the former Federal Bureau of Investigation officials told NBC News. One high roller told Weinreich that she thought Paddock was creepy. 12 guns were fitted with "bump stocks", devices that enable a gun like an automatic weapon.

He placed cameras outside of his door to watch police as they drew nearer to his room, eventually taking his own life as SWAT teams prepared to enter.

Sheriff Joe Lombardo of the Clark County Police Department said during a press conference that the investigators are of the belief that Paddock "had to have some help".
