Trump Has a New Nickname for His New Enemy

The feud that erupted between President Trump and Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) has confused numerous political veterans in Washington. Trump reacted by tweeting that Corker had decided not to run for reelection in 2018 because the president refused to endorse Corker.

Earlier, Corker, the current chairman of the Senate's Committee on Foreign Relations, told The New York Times that Trump's impulsive policy risks setting the country "on the path to World War III". After the outbreak of violent protests in Charlottesville, Va., Corker said that he didn't feel that Trump had demonstrated the "competence" or "stability" needed for a successful presidency.

Only eight percent think Trump is making the situation better, said the poll.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders used her news briefing to tear into Corker, saying he had "rolled out the red carpet" for the Iran nuclear deal. "I don't like normally talking to you on the record - I'm kidding you - but I will".

A new report from Vanity Fair claims that President Trump recently vented to his security chief about his hatred for those who work in the White House. Corker had been an ally and personal friend to the president before they developed a public feud on social media.

"I don't know why the president tweets out things that are not true", Corker told The New York Times.

Apparently unwilling to let Corker's "adult day care center" barb be the last word, Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon that Corker was an ineffective senator and could not "get the job done".

Trump said Tuesday that he didn't think his feud with Corker would imperil his tax cut plan. Even after Trump won, Corker was on the list of possibilities for Secretary of State.

Senate Republicans are imploring President Donald Trump and Sen.

Known for his blunt commentary, Corker had long softened any public criticism of Trump or his administration with carefully worded praise.
