Mariota wanted to play this week, but was limited to stationary throwing in practice, so he isn't ready to take the field. Ahead of its tilt with the Dolphins, Tennessee ruled Mariota out of the game with a pulled hamstring. With Dan Marino sidelined by an injury, Damon Huard started at quarterback for the Dolphins in this Sunday night game at Pro Player Stadium and he threw touchdown passes to wide receiver Tony Martin and Stanley Pritchett. Mariota could be good to go as early as Week 6 if he's ultimately ruled inactive later today.

Our models project Mariota to post 2,812.4 passing yards, 21.1 passing touchdowns, and 7.2 interceptions over the remainder of the season. Of all the problems the Dolphins have had this season, their defense has been solid, especially against the run and have done it against more prolific passers than Mariota in Philip Rivers and Drew Brees.

Jay Cutler, who was brought in to replace injured quarterback Ryan Tannehill, continues to irk most of his team's fanbase with poor performance and lackadaisical body language at times. Starting in Phillips place will be rookie Davon Godchaux, who has started the last two games at defensive tackle. The loss was Miami's second straight and dropped them to 1-2 on the season.

But Cassel lost his most recent meeting with the Dolphins, a 31-3 rout in 2011 while playing for the Chiefs.

Mariota tweaked his hamstring during Tennessee's loss in Houston last week and has been considered a game-time decision by Titans coach Mike Mularkey for Sunday. Reese said. "Brandon Weeden comes in here and knows what he has to do is he has to conform exactly to whatever it is they want". An offense missing its QB - Matt Cassel is the backup - could put more pressure on the team's defense, which allowed Houston to score a franchise-record point total last week.

La Canfora reported that he sat down with Kaepernick for several hours to get an update on the quarterback and said Kaepernick's "sole focus" is playing in the National Football League again. That means the Titans will likely rely heavily on their running game in this one.

This week Dolphin fans should root for the ultimate underdog, Jay Cutler, against the Titans.
