Deepika, who looks lovely and full of poise in every frame, essays the role of Rani Padmini, the queen of Chittor and wife of Maha Rawal Ratan Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor.

The trailer of the much-awaited film Padmavati is out and it hints that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will set fire to the box office once again. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus looks like another masterpiece. This morning the makers of the movie announced that the trailer of the film will be out at 13:03 pm. The organisation had alleged that the film would have a romantic scene between the characters of Deepika and Ranveer, which would put Rani Padmini in bad light.

Padmavati is the story of Rani Padmini of Chittor, who allegedly performed jauhar (along with hundreds of Rajput women) when Alauddin Khilji invaded the fort of Chittor. She was also the reason for conflict between Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and Alauddin Khilji, which is essentially what the film is about.

The movie is based on the poem of Padmavat by Sufi poet Malik Muhammed Jayasi that narrates the tale of Padmavati and Ratan Singh of Chittor. However, this is Shahid Kapoor's first project with him.

The actress is seen holding a graceful stance with the voiceover of the dialogues mouthed by her. I don't think any Bollywood actor would have managed to bring such an intensity which Ranveer Singh has put into the role.

Bhansali chose a special timing to launch the trailer of "Padmavati".

The trailer of Padmavati is out and it impressed everyone.

Apart from Deepika, Shahid and Ranveer, the film also features Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh and Raza Murad in key roles. The film jointly produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

The movie is slated to release this year on December 1, 2017.
