The pack comes with a price tag of Rs 97 and it will offer unlimited internet, unlimited calling, and messages every month.

The feature phone comes with a price tag of Rs 2200 and it will be available at leading retail stores starting from October 20, 2017.

Micromax Bharat-1 comes with Micromax Entertainment feature that includes unlimited fun ranging from Live TV to Music, Movies and Videos which are available under the suite of entertainment apps for the users to watch their favorite content on the move. Micromax says the effective cost of ownership will be Rs 3,364 after one year, as compared to Rs 3,336 for Reliance Jio's 4G feature phone.

Taking cues from the JioPhone, Bharat 1 is a 4G VoLTE ready feature phone.

As per the specifications the Bharat-1 sports a 2.4-inch display and is powered by an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon processor coupled with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. For photography, it has a basic VGA selfie camera, and a 2-megapixel camera at the back. Since the Bharat 1 is targeted at the feature phone market, BSNL is going aggressive with the data plan.

The handset will also come pre-loaded with additional features like Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) mobile app.

Speaking on the occasion, telecom minister Manoj Sinha said the partnership with Micromax would increase BSNL's subscribers and strengthen the financial position. But if a customer uses the respective devices for three years, Jio Phone would cost them Rs. 6,008, whereas the Micromax Bharat-1 would cost customers Rs. 5,692. Priced at Rs 2,200, the phone will support 3G connection as well. On the battery front, the handset sips its power from a decent 2,000mAh battery. "We will now take this vision forward with Bharat 1 and create a compelling proposition for the users that is a first in the category". During the launch, the company said that the Bharat 1 is a completely Made in India phone.

Users will not be restricted to BSNL's network in this Micromax phone. "We are confident that Bharat 1 will help millions of users experience the data and calling experience like never before", added Srivastava.
