According to previous rumours, the Pixel 2 XL will sport a 5.6-inch display along with a 2K resolution. Just like the Pixel reimagined the camera, Google has reimagined the speaker.

Queiroz leads with the number: DXOmark, which said last year's Pixel was the best smartphone camera ever, says this year's Pixel is the best smartphone camera ever. It runs the same Google Assistant software that the original Google Home and Google Pixel phones use, meaning it personalizes answers to many of your questions.

In a move similar to Apple's staid design of the iPhone 8, Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones look surprisingly similar to their predecessors. The display also features always-on tech for constant display of info like the time and notifications. No, Google didn't opt for the trendy dual-camera setup that you would find on the iPhone X or Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but we're no less impressed with what the Pixel 2 family has to offer. For those who have already set up Google voice assistant, the windows will take the user to the Assistant menu.

Google's now holding its anticipated Pixel 2 event, with the new smartphone taking center stage alongside several other hardware additions.

Both the Pixel XL and the 5-inch Pixel will also get rid of the headphone jack, something Apple did with the iPhone past year. Furthermore, the company has launched the new Pixelbook Pen, a stylus with machine learning chops for handwriting recognition. Demoed on stage at Google's event today, this feature lets two Pixel Bud wearers chat in their native languages by translating conversations in real time.

Just like the Pixel phones, the earbuds come in three colors: black, white, and blue.

"They're simple to use and they anticipate your needs", Osterloh told the product launch event in San Francisco.

There have also been rumours surrounding an updated full-size Home speaker, potentially called Google Home 2, a new Daydream VR headset and a high-end, $1,000 Chromebook laptop said to be called the Pixelbook. It will become available on October 19 in the markets where Google Home is available: Australia, France, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the USA, as well as Japan.

There's no hard specs on the battery yet, but Google is promising "up to 10 hours" on a single charge.

Google has added the male voice option for its assistant under the name "Voice II". Both will be sold The Google Store and select retailers; so far, Google's website lists only Best Buy and Staples.
