The final round of World Cup Qualifiers takes place on Tuesday as teams including France and Portugal look to clinch qualification.

However, Anton Saroka's excellent finish just before half-time gave the visitors hope.

That proved to be the last goal of the game as Les Bleus booked their spot in Russian Federation.

The Netherlands, finalists in 2010, will not be at the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation, despite a 2-0 win over Sweden on the night.

The Swiss had led the group since beating Portugal 2-0 in Basel in their opening match in September past year and gone on to win all nine matches before Wednesday's (NZT) encounter in Lisbon, while Portugal had won their subsequent eight.

Arjen Robben drew first blood for Holland with a 16th minute penalty before netting his second 24 minutes later.

Portugal booked their place in the World Cup by virtue of a 2-0 win over Switzerland. But dropped points to Luxembourg and Sweden over the last two global match periods mean that they have just a one-point lead over the Swedes, and France has no room for error if they want to avoid a qualification playoff.

European champions Portugal finished top of their group after a 2-0 home win over Switzerland, who will now go to a play-off.

The Greeks had to wait for more than half an hour to break down their table- propping opponents, finally going ahead when captain Vasilis Torosidis scored with a diving header from Zeca's cross in the 32nd minute.

Belgium rounded off their qualification campaign in style with a 4-0 win over Cyprus.

The result appeared settled in the 12th minute when Eden Hazard found the far corner of the net with a curling right-footed shot.

Eden Hazard all but sealed the game with a 63rd minute penalty before a Romelu Lukaku strike put the cherry on top 15 minutes later.
