The third T20 worldwide is the final match of the current tour of Pakistan in UAE and the SLC administration had wanted to play at Lahore's Gaddaffi Stadium. Since then, barring Zimbabwe, no worldwide cricket team has toured Pakistan.

"SLC have over the past two months conducted a thorough evaluation with the assistance of the Government of Sri Lanka, the Government of Pakistan, the PCB and independent Security experts", an SLC release stated.

Sri Lanka limited-overs regular skipper Upul Tharanga has pulled out of the third T20I in Lahore, reported cricbuzz. SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala will also come with his players. SLC had earlier announced that one squad would be picked to play all three T20Is versus Pakistan. Hashan Thilakaratne (batting coach), Rumesh Ratnayake (bowling coach), Asanka Gurusinha (manager) and Nic Pothas (head coach) are all willing to tour Lahore after head coach Mickey Arthur spoke to them, a source in the PCB confirmed to The Express Tribune.

Babar Azam has hit a second successive century to lead Pakistan to a 32-run victory and 2-0 ODI series lead over Sri Lanka.

But a World XI squad comprising 13 players from seven top cricket-playing nations played in Lahore last month, with Pakistan hoping the visit would help end years of global isolation.

The T20I on October 29 will mark the return of high-profile bilateral cricket back to Pakistan as only Zimbabwe and World XI have played global matches in the country since the Sri Lanka team bus was attacked in Lahore in March 2009.

The remaining matches will be played in Abu Dhabi (October 18) and Sharjah (October 20 and 23).

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI will begin at 4:30 PM IST (1100 hrs GMT) since it is a day-night fixture.
