Knife-wielding man shouting 'Allah' attacks French soldier at Paris subway station

In an incident in Paris on Friday, a knife-wielding assailant was said to have been subdued by French soldiers after he attacked a soldier at a major subway location. The individual was not known to police, " added anor police source.

France has been on terror alert after November 2015 and the soldier was from the Operation Sentinelle force assigned to protect prominent sites after deadly Islamic extremist attacks in recent years. In January 2015, Islamist gunmen had stormed into the offices of satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 journalists.

French Defence Minister Florence Parly said the number of troops involved in its Sentinelle operation would remain at 7,000 under the plan.

The unidentified man is said to have rushed at a patrol of soldiers wearing combat uniforms and brandishing assault rifles. We don't know more about intentions of attacker, who has been arrested. In August, a man rammed his auto into a group of soldiers near Paris, injuring six of them.

Including the attacks today in Paris and Burgundy, France has already seen 10 terrorist incidents in 2017.

French police have one terrorism suspect in custody and are on a manhunt for another terror suspect after two separate terror attacks today. The assailant had also threatened passersby before targeting the three police officers, according to BFM TV. "This new attack legitimate fully what we want to do, that is to say, to make this device even more unpredictable, even more undetectable to potential attackers", she continued.
