Liverpool are eager to put behind the heavy Premier League loss to Manchester City and bounce back during their Champions League game against Sevilla on Wednesday, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has said.

Despite appearing to miss Coutinho's invention, Klopp insisted that the rest would benefit the player, who has not appeared for Liverpool since failing to force through a summer move to Barcelona but took to the field twice with the Brazil national team last week.

And Kop chief Klopp left his star out of Saturday's game at Manchester City in which Liverpool were thrashed 5-0. If you want to blame me for the decision (not to play Coutinho) then no problem.

"When I was at Liverpool, nobody really knew too much about us until we reached the 2005 final." .

"He opted for Milner, the team was winning the games and we did not compete in European competition, so we did not need so many rotations". He came back long flight, 15 minutes here, 15 minutes there, three weeks without training.

After tests, a club medical report showed "the forward has suffered a muscular injury to his right thigh" and would "be ruled out of both Wednesday's fixture, as well as Saturday's league clash against Girona", the club said on its website.

"So we thought "Let's give him three or four days' proper training - and then he's available for us which is good news".

"We've scored a lot of goals already this season, and the players on the pitch have played the kind of passes Phil can play".

LIVERPOOL had to take the play-off route into the Champions League group stages.

But he did play twice for Brazil in the recent global break and rejoined his Reds team-mates in training at Melwood late last week.
