A potential new feature from Instagram allows users to directly share their stories to the Facebook app. The company has also confirmed that stories are coming to the desktop version of Facebook too. It is evident that less numbers of people are using Facebook now a days. The second screenshot shows that the Facebook Story will indicate that it was created and shared using the Instagram app along with the timestamp just beneath the user's name.

Zuckerberg & Co. have embedded Stories into pretty much every Facebook app, including Messenger and WhatsApp.

In a statement made by an Instagram spokesperson, "We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you". It is still not clear if or when Instagram plans to launch the feature officially.

Sixty-seven percent of Americans report getting some of their news via social media at some point, according to a Pew Research survey of just under 5,000 US adults conducted last month and published Thursday.

This type of new feature may seem a bit odd, but it may indicate a problem with the integration of the Snapchat feature on the main Facebook app.

However it seems that Facebook is still trying to make Stories on its platform happen. Screenshots show the ability to post the same photo or video from an Instagram Story to the main Facebook app.

According to research carried out, 60pc of people that use the stories feature are using it with the "voice-on", making it a potentially very powerful way for businesses to interact with consumers.
