The home based Super Eagles were thrashed by their Ghanaian counterparts 4-1 to win the WAFU Cup of Nations on Sunday.

Ghana will play Nigeria on Sunday 23rd September, 2017 and kick off is 18: 00 GMT for the finals of the WAFU Cup 2017.

The hosts were already heading to the title with a 4-0 scoreline before Nigeria's Ali Rabiu grabbed a consolation for the Eagles just before the final whistle went off.

They are strong in defence but I am sure the Stars and the technical team know what to do to defeat the Nigerians.

But the humiliation was not over for Nigeria as Winful Cobbinah scored a fourth goal for rampant Ghana three minutes into stoppage time.

It was a repeat of the Group phase clash between the rivals which the Eagles won 2-0, but the Black Stars were a different class on the night, taking Nigeria apart to the delight of a heavily partisan crowd.

Konadu was delighted his troops managed to cap an impressive display at the WAFU tournament with four goals in the final.

Second-half substitute Patrick Razak made a huge impact winning two penalties when he came on in the 57th minute.

"The team is good to have qualified for the competition's final and CHAN but the authorities should organize more competitive matches for adequate exposure", he said.

"Playing before a vociferous Ghanaian crowd destabilized the players as majority were facing such situation for the first time in their careers".

From one of such raids in the Nigeria defence, rasta-haired Sarfo capitalised on a loose ball around the visitors 18-yard box and unleashed a grounder which went straight into the net for Ghana's imminent opener on the 43rd minute.
