Aaron Donald Reports To Rams

Donald's representatives and the Rams will continue to work towards reaching a new deal, the team reported on their website Saturday.

Donald stayed away from the Rams starting in May, holding out through offseason team activities, training camp and the entire preseason while attempting to get a lucrative new contract. Donald would have risked forfeiting weekly game checks of $106,014 if he missed any regular season games, and it's possible the Rams would have made him pay the fines if he chose to go that route.

According to ESPN and Adam Schefter, sources say he's reported to the team, he's taking his physical, but has also not received a new contract.

"He is not ruled out, but right now he's not here", Rams coach Sean McVay told TheRams.com. Even the Rams agree that the rookie scale contract isn't reflective of Donald's status as one of the NFL's most effective players at any position.

It's kinda sad to see all those empty seats, especially considering this is just the second season that National Football League is back in Los Angeles after a two-decade hiatus.

Donald has no timetable to return to the field, but Los Angeles' front seven will welcome him back with open arms and eyes on the quarterback.

If the Rams can make some noise at home versus the Colts, even without Andrew Luck playing on the opposite side, they could be in great shape by the time Donald is able to suit up in the near future.
