The Spotify App is Rumoured to be Coming to Xbox One

Microsoft is set to bring the popular music streaming app Spotify on to Xbox One platforms, for all users to enjoy.

It's been leaked, so it's all but official now: Spotify is coming to the Xbox One family of consoles.

Sources and evidence corroborate that internal testing for an Xbox Spotify app is now underway- implying that the app may be close to completion, and therefore, release.

A second potential indicator that Spotify is coming to the Xbox One comes from a Microsoft employee who was spotted using the service. Spotify has fast become for music what Netflix is for movies and TV- so it's good to see that it will soon be available for a broader audience, and not be exclusive much longer.

The Xbox One is a great game machine, but its multimedia features have been a huge advantage for many fans.

Do you or would you use Spotify on your console?

That meant that the Windows Store app was only available on Windows 10 PCs, and could not be installed on other Windows 10 devices, such as phones, HoloLens, or the Xbox One. "I'm thrilled today to introduce a new music destination called PlayStation Music, with Spotify as the exclusive partner", Sony's ‎Senior Vice President of Marketing and Head of PlayStation Network, Eric Lempel, said.

There's no word yet on an official release window for the Xbox One Spotify app, but you can probably expect the ability listen to all your Discovery Weekly playlists and Daily Mixes on Xbox soon.
