Jury selection began Monday in the civil trial involving musician Taylor Swift and a former KYGO DJ who is accused of groping her.

The judge, William Martinez, asked one potential juror whether he was a Swift fan.

The photo was obtained by TMZ then sealed by a judge earlier in the case.

Mueller says he was verbally abused and kicked out of the venue by her security.

Mueller and Swift are suing each other.

Police and a bomb-sniffing dog waited in the rain Monday with about a dozen reporters before potential jurors were set to arrive for questioning.

Swift and her mother, Andrea Swift, watched while they were asked if they were familiar with the circumstances of the civil case.

Mueller sued first, saying that Swift's allegation cost him his job.

The 27-year-old Swift, who has counter-sued, looked on with her mother at her side in the Denver courtroom as David "Jackson" Mueller took the stand to testify.

Swift and Mueller are not required to be in court for jury selection, which will take two days, but must be present for the rest of the trial.

She said she's seen studies range from 40 percent to 70 percent of women have experienced some kind of sexual harassment in the workplace, and said Swift's action following the alleged groping is a good teaching moment for others. Jury selection is due to be completed on Tuesday (08Aug17). The eight-member panel will be chosen from a pool of 60 candidates, court spokesman Jeff Colwell said.

Opened arguments were expected by Tuesday afternoon. Court documents say it is unlikely that either side will settle.

Swift and Mueller are both expected to testify, along with Mueller's former boss and members of Swift's entourage.

Mueller says he told the security staff: "Please call the police".

The DJ added that he had met "hundreds of celebrities" in the past but had never been accused of physical misconduct; and accused a co-worker of being the one who groped Swift. She says she wants to hold Mueller accountable and is seeking $1.

Mueller's attorney, Gabriel McFarland, disputed Swift's allegations. His lawsuit said Swift's accusation is "nonsense".
