Notably, Microsoft is also extending the Surface Plus program into businesses: In addition to the Surface laptops and desktops, business customers will also have the option to finance the Surface Hub 55-inch conference room mega-tablet.

Low monthly payments: Customers can purchase a Surface device with an easy, 24-month payment plan at 0% April. Customers also have the option to add the Microsoft Complete extended service plan.

Upgrade subject to device availability and eligibility requirements, including an account with Klarna, good standing, the return of the functional device to Microsoft in good condition, and new 24-month payment plan and credit agreement with Klarna.

Consumers are only offered a 24-month payment plan, which comes with 0% April, the post said.

-Dedicated Service & Support: Surface Plus offers best in class service and support from Microsoft Stores. Or, if a Microsoft Store is not nearby, you also can enroll online starting at 9:00 AM PT today.

Surface Plus for Business lets SMBs add as many devices as needed, and a mix of models, to a single agreement.

It's unclear how much money people will save through the upgrade because it depends on the kind of Surface device involved.

The plan encompasses every model of Surface, including the Surface Pro tablet/laptop hybrid, the Surface Studio PC, the Surface Book high-end laptop, and the new student-focused Surface Laptop.

In the education space, Microsoft's Surface devices face tough competition from Google's (goog) Chromebook barebones laptops, which account for over half of the 12.6 million PCs shipped to US schools in 2016, according to a report by GeekWire.

Businesses can expand or reduce their device fleet mid-term.

In the companies complete back to school post on the official Windows blog they also talk about Windows 10 S, Office 365 for Education, and other OEM partners hardware that could also help students be more productive in their school studies.
