"I'm wondering, can we still be friends?".

"New music. Thursday noon", the 23-year-old captioned artwork of the new single on Instagram.

Considering the lyric content, "Friends" seems to be about an ex who Bieber wants back in his life so their relationship "doesn't have to end".

Over the electro-pop hitmaker's dance floor-ready production, Biebs sings about friendship following a breakup. "Friends" reunites the powerhouse team behind the album's history-making 8-times platinum selling single "Sorry", including songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter. Catchy and relatable, we approve. While "Sorry" was perhaps Bieber's bounciest and most club-friendly dance track on "Purpose", the lower-toned beats on his latest BloodPop collab feel a little more grown-up, which in turn makes it nearly even catchier than "Sorry".

Since releasing Purpose, Justin has kept a low profile music-wise but has appeared on several other songs.

Not only was he an integral part of "Sorry", but he's also a co-writer on multiple other songs from objective and his involvement in the album is just one of many musical masterpieces he's been involved with. Additionally, Bieber was featured in DJ Khaled's single, "I'm the One".

Will his fans stay loyal and be receptive of his new song, 'Friends, ' after he cancelled his tour?
