"There's great competition in the squad now, there's a good mixture of midfielders and attackers and I think that the club will be close to challenging this year".

The most exciting aspect for me is the makeup of the squad.

Four further Premier League teams now have average heights of six feet (1.829 cm) or above - Watford, Stoke, West Ham and new boys Huddersfield.

Jose Mourinho has reminded Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward that he wants at least one more signing before the start of fall.

Giggs added: "There were too many home games last season where we didn't take our chances but it's not just down to Lukaku, the rest of the team need to be contributing as well".

Last season, only Ibrahimovic reached double figures in the Premier League, with Juan Mata's six the next best.

Following the news that he had previously been training alone whilst with Chelsea this pre-season due to question marks concerning his fitness, the Serbian midfielder opened up, speaking to Telegraph reporters in a press conference on Thursday.

"He needs time. We are going to give him his time".

"More than a dozen" companies are said to be vying to become Manchester United's official sleeve partner.

According to The Independent, Jose was earlier disgruntled with the transfer business done by the club, but after signing star midfielder Nemanja Matic from Chelsea, a lot of his problems has gotten solved since. After a long summer overseas, you wonder if United will be ready to hit the ground running when they face West Ham on August 13th.

Mourinho remains convinced that he can help to push United back to the summit once more, but concedes that the task is more hard than it once was. This season, hopefully he'll score loads of goals and it's about him taking that leadership role.

Meanwhile, United were keen to bring in Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, but the club's refusal to bend on their valuation has seen the Red Devils' two bids get rejected. "I want to improve my game and I'm sure Conte is the right coach to do that".
