Marouane Fellaini on the verge of leaving Manchester United

Speaking on Sunday after United's 3-0 friendly win against Valerenga, which Fellaini scored in, Mourinho said: "It's easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane".

Fellaini is highly regarded by Jose Mourinho, who stood by him following a hard start to the season by the former Everton man.

The curly haired midfielder also managed to score himself a new contract last season under Jose so it appears the manager's comments of his importance to the team is not just all talk.

With Nemanja Matic strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, Fellaini's future has been put into the question and Joe.co.uk claims that the player has already put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Super Lig club.

Fellaini was also linked with a move to AC Milan and Inter showed last December however Mourinho made a decision to keep him at the club.

Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun has confirmed reports suggesting Fellaini is close to signing a deal to move to Istanbul, with a deal believed to be close to being confirmed. Then again, Mourinho could just be lying.

Fellaini headed Man United into a first-half lead, before Lukaku and McTominay came off the bench to register during a comfortable 90 minutes for the 20-time English champions.

Fellaini has travelled with the United squad for their pre-season match in Oslo, Norway.

This past season has been his best but there's not too many supporters that will be sad to see the back of him if he does go.

This evening gives them and United's more experienced stars another chance to impress and they will want to get a win under their belts after losing to Barcelona last time out.

Pereira's namesake, goalkeeper Joel, is thought of very highly at Old Trafford while the likes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Demetri Mitchell did well in the two full-back positions in the second half.
