The feed will have cards with sports highlights, top news articles, new videos, music, stories etc.

The update will be rolled out internationally in the next couple of weeks. This trial began in December 2016, and the full news feed for smartphones will be added to apps in the United States first. "It's not really about what your friends are interested in", Ben Gomes, a Google vice president for engineering, said in a briefing with reporters. So don't get surprised even if a one-year old blog appears on your feed; that's because Google thinks that it might be of value to you. Look out for a new "Follow" button next to certain types of search results-including movies, sports teams, your favorite bands or music artists, famous people, and more. At Google, we know this statement is truer than true.

The new features are already available on the smartphone and tablet versions of Google, but the Guardian reports these are being expanded to the version people see on their computers.

Google Feed will suggest links based on a user's Google search history as well as data from other Google services, such as YouTube, Gmail and Google Calendar, the company said. This new feature will pick up stories based on your interests and show them to you.

Additionally, with an abundance of businesses using Google AdWords, the large amount of ads present take away from other content platforms' traffic.

Google's most prominent app has for always been known for searches.
