Gas Prices Move Up; SWMI Lowest In State

"But good news, from here through at least the next couple of days we should see the state average of $2.31 a gallon start to tip-toe lower".

AAA officials say local gas prices remain some of the lowest they've seen all year, even as prices rise nationally.

The Dearborn-based auto club says late Sunday the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.42 per gallon.

Prices Sunday were 8.5 cents a gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and are 12.9 cents a gallon lower than a month ago.

According to GasBuddy, the average retail gasoline prices in New Haven has fallen to 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week. Modesto- $2.78/g, down 2.5 cents per gallon from last week's $2.81/g.

Oklahoma- $2.00/g, up 3.3 cents per gallon from last week's $1.97/g.

The average price was unchanged in Caledonia, at $2.37 for a second consecutive week.

Tulsa- $1.93/g, up 10.0 cents per gallon from last week's $1.83/g.

In the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market, the average was $2.075 on Monday, down from $2.077 the previous day and from $2.09 a week ago.

For New Haven gas prices have fallen, however for the nation gas prices have increased.

Nationally, the upward trend continued Sunday, with fuel averaging $2.26 across the US, up from $2.23 seven days earlier, AAA said.
