The opening mission is called Homecoming. In the story of Destiny 2, the last safe city on Earth has fallen and lay in ruins, occupied by a powerful new enemy Dominus Ghaul and his elite army, the Red Legion. In addition, players will have access to three of Destiny 2's subclasses, Dawnblade Warlock, Arcstrider Hunter or Sentinel Titan. And, on July 23 at 1 p.m. EDT only, you'll have a chance to check out The Farm, Destiny 2's social space. In The Farm most of the vendors will be offline, the idea for the short opening hour is to test how many players can join at once. The new Countdown mode for the Crucible is also included in the open beta. But as far as what these changes are, they remain a mystery. The game packs brand new classes which is something you should know about. While you will get rewards as you play, Bungie says that the beta won't be representative of how characters will grow in the final game.

The creators of Destiny, Bungie (who used to develop Halo) and Activision are releasing the official beta which you can play on PS4 and other consoles.

Bungie also clarified that some online services for Destiny 2 will not be available during the beta tests. It is worth noting that the beta phase is only available to those who pre-ordered the game.

So it looks like a weekend filled with gaming for all you folk out there - although having to choose between Rush and the Destiny 2 open beta does feel a little bit like fate messing with all of us.
