Conte is rumoured to have been at loggerheads with the club over in-coming transfers and the long-term vision for Chelsea, however it now appears things have been straightened out and he is now expected to move his wife Elisabetta and daughter Vittoria to London as they stayed behind in Italy last season.

"After a tough season, it's very important always to look back, to see the season and then to understand very well. It was very important for me because it was my first season in England, a new country without my family, and it was important to understand my situation in all aspects".

Eden Hazard is injured, out until September, Costa has been exiled in the hope of completing a move to Atletico Madrid, and Pedro suffered concussion and facial injuries in a heavy collision with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina on Saturday.

"I can want this, but if I'm alone it's very hard to do this".

Morata is replacing Costa as Chelsea's first choice forward having joined from Real Madrid for an initial £58m, while Batshuayi is now second in the pecking order. We don't have a lot of space to make mistakes.

"He has a lot of potential, the same as Michy to improve". That will not put me down after what happened last season and how I stood up to it.

Morata has also scored nine goals in 20 appearances for Spain, including three at last year's European Championship.

The west London outfit said on Wednesday they had agreed a deal to sign the 24-year-old who has now passed his medical and will join the squad on their pre-season tour of Asia.

"I am so happy to be here. Now it's right to start to work together and it's very important to know that there's a lot of work to do".

"We were surprised and disappointed that one day prior to the match, one of our young players, Kenedy, posted messages on his social media account that caused great offence and hurt the feelings of the people of China", read a Chelsea statement.

"He must continue this way because he is working well for us". Recent £58m Chelsea signing Álvaro Morata did not feature but arrived in Singapore on Saturday to meet up with his Chelsea team-mates.
