"The revelations came over last weekend during a four-day-long reality show-style live stream, promote her new album Witness".

Twitter announced today (June 16) that Katy is officially the first person to reach 100 million followers on the platform - ever!

Even Twitter came out to share a post in honor of the California Girls singer.

The singer's new Twitter count puts her ahead of Justin Bieber, who comes in second place with 96.7 million followers, Barack Obama (90.8 million), Perry's rumored nemesis Taylor Swift (85.1 million) and Rihanna (74.1 million).

Perry first got into Twitter in 2009 when her single "I Kissed a Girl" became a hit.

Katy Perry attends The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute benefit gala, May 1, 2017, in NY.

Asked if she replies to her fans on Twitter, she added: "Sometimes I do, I kind of do a lot more of it when I'm in the zone mode". "And I know that sometimes it feels publicly like I'm dragging cement blocks, but like, the pyramids were made out of cement blocks - or not cement".

Anxious that Perry might expose more about herself than she meant to, the singer's associates encouraged her to cut the conversation short.

"It's like, why is Katy bringing this up again, they've both said their piece why not just let it go. I'm a bit more nerdy than everybody thinks I am, I'm a big goofball".
