Apple's iPad Pro is closer than ever to replacing your laptop

I've been using the previous 9.7-inch iPad Pro for about a year.

That means you get about 20 per cent more screen in a unit that is not much bigger and still under 500g. Or if you're catching a flight, the boarding pass will automatically show up. The media has focused on many interesting bits of the WWDC such as the HomePod (dead on arrival), macOS, new storage plans, and new Siri voice among others.

Think about those times you've been shopping for a TV - a good sales rep will ask you what content you watch - if you watch a lot of live sport a higher refresh rate would suit you.

But how does that apply to an iPad.

"When you scroll, it's buttery smooth".

According to a report published by Game Debate, Apple's iMac Pro will be the first to debut the AMD Radeon Vega graphics card.

It is the problem in that most people use their iPads to consume media, from apps to web browsing and email, and their current device is perfectly fine. With iOS 11, which rolls out in the fall, however, you should notice that the iPad Pro 10.5 performs much better than earlier models.

In order to bolster its presence in the lucrative detachable segment, the company introduced compelling features in the iPad Pro lineup through its latest version of iOS 11 software. To my surprise the iPad Pro will fit into the Sleeve even with the keyboard on. Other premium accessories including Apple Pencil and the Keyboard are estimated to increase the profit margins.

Camera-wise, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro comes with the same 12-megapixel, ƒ/1.8 aperture camera as the iPhone 7 and a 7-megapixel FaceTime camera.

But come on - don't be using an iPad for taking photos.

Apple has updated the specs and capabilities to be identical for both the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The iMac Pro is also equipped with a new space gray enclosure and a 27-inch Retina 5K display with support for one billion colors. But the real reason you will eventually want to buy Apple's newest iPad hasn't happened yet.

These new improvements are intuitive iOS interpretations of the actions we know from desktop computers, adding productivity power to the iPad, without impacting the famously simple-to-use device.

The conversion of the home screen's Dock from a static tray of apps to a connected part of the app-switching experience - along with a new multitasking view that's reminiscent of the macOS feature Mission Control - lets more advanced users pair up apps, so they can switch between different parts of their workflow without doing multitasking maintenance, as is now required.

Tough one. The Pro is so much more expensive than the basic iPad.

And the best iPad you can buy is this one. Our usual set of benchmarks (below) certainly point to some big performance gains, but here's the most important thing: Hardly anything I threw at the Pro over a week of testing managed to trip it up.

The iPad Pro is the ideal mobile office.

We've detailed iOS 11 in a lengthy piece.
