Real Madrid were never afraid of Atletico comeback, insists Marcelo

Zidane took over Madrid in January 2016 after he succeeded Rafa Bentitez, and was appointed on a two-and-a-half-year deal where he won an unprecedented 11th European title in his first campaign.

This season has all been about records for Zidane - he's been the architect of a Real Madrid side that has broken the all-time unbeaten record of a Spanish side, with Los Blancos also in the midst of the best ever consecutive scoring run by any club in Europe's Top 5 Leagues (all competitions).

The 33 year-old will be out of contract and although his future has not been confirmed, it is thought to lie away from Madrid amid reports of big-money offers from clubs in China, the United States and Italy.

"I know where I am and the only thing that matters here is doing everything possible to win".

Zidane's side are now second in the table due to the head-to-head records but have a match in hand, meaning that they will beat Barcelona for the title if they win their three games remaining against Sevilla themselves, Celta Vigo and Malaga. The three points secured the league title ahead of city rivals Atletico Madrid with one match to spare.

I want to note that the upcoming fight with the "Nervionians" for Real Madrid will be decisive in many, because in the next meetings with Celta and Málaga, Zidane's wards will certainly be stronger.

"Now we think about LaLiga and there are only unbelievable games left". "We look very good in LaLiga and are in the Champions League final, but it does not mean anything", said the Frenchman.

Zidane has used the depth of his squad to great effect in recent weeks by making wholesale changes for La Liga games sandwiched between Champions League encounters.

Atletico roared into a two-goal lead in the semi-final second leg with a Saul Niguez header and Antoine Griezmann's penalty, but Isco notched in the 42nd minute for Real who saw out the game calmly to lose 2-1 on the night and ease into the final. We are only thinking about Sevilla.
